Letter from the President
Paul Janke, President and CEO
Bay Area Hospital is growing and adapting to meet the high expectations of the communities we serve. Our goal is to provide the highest level of care as the premier medical center for the Oregon Coast.
In the past few years, we have expanded our facilities and added services to strengthen our role as the region’s medical center. For example:
- Our newly completed four-story patient care tower offers the latest improvements in safety, comfort, and privacy, with every patient nestled in a private room.
- The Prefontaine Cardiovascular Center, with its state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization program, provides lifesaving treatment close to home.
- Adding a surgical robot puts us on the leading edge of minimally invasive high-tech surgery. Patients experience less pain, less blood loss, and less scarring
- Our two new hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers provide our patients with unsurpassed technology for healing chronic wounds.
These exciting achievements build on a foundation of excellence that already featured a Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval for quality and patient safety. Our nationally accredited programs include our Community Cancer Center, our Bariatric Surgery Center, our Women’s Imaging Center, and many more.
Amidst all the changes, our doctors and nurses, our skilled technologists, and the support staff throughout the hospital remain committed to exceptional patient care. And we don’t stop there. As America places an increasing emphasis on wellness and disease prevention, Bay Area Hospital is the area’s leading voice in patient education and community health initiatives.
We like to say our mission is to improve the health of our community every day. We take that goal seriously, and we aim to share it with every local resident. Together, we’re getting better all the time.
Yours in health,
Paul Janke, President and CEO, Bay Area Hospital
