Change is ever present in today’s healthcare world, and Bay Area Hospital is no exception. But here we’ve given change another name—we call it progress. We’re growing and adapting to meet the increasingly sophisticated needs of our patients and the high expectations of our communities. Our goal is to provide the highest level of care as the premier medical center for the Oregon coast. In 2010, we initiated significant measures to strengthen our role as the regional medical center for the Oregon coast. They include:

• Achieving repeated accreditation by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons, a guarantee that our Cancer Care Center provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment and offers a wide range of state-of-the-art services
• Forging a partnership at our Cancer Care Center with Oregon Health Sciences University to ensure radiation oncology patients that their treatment is cutting- edge current
• Acquiring some of today’s most advanced medical technology
• Creating a dedicated Women’s Imaging Center
• Announcing our plan to break ground in summer 2011 on a four-story, 97,000-square-foot expansion that will modernize inpatient nursing units, consolidate outpatient services and improve the overall healing environment
