Recipe: Nonalcoholic margarita

This margarita, made from lime juice and simple syrup, is a thirst-quenching nonalcoholic treat.

This recipe makes extra simple syrup, which can be kept in the refrigerator for several days.

Directions

In small sauce pan, heat water and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and chill. (Simple syrup may be refrigerated for several days.)

In blender, add ice, juice and simple syrup. Blend until smooth, pour in favorite chilled glass and garnish rim with cut fruit.


Ingredients

Simple syrup (makes 3/4 cup):

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Margarita (1 glass):

  • 2 cups ice
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 3 tablespoons simple syrup

Cut fresh fruit to garnish
