The mission of Bay Area Hospital is to “improve the health of our community every day.” The Foundation draws together resources to support how this mission is carried out through our facility and healthcare services. In addition, we award Community Grants each year to organizations working in innovative, collaborative ways with other nonprofits or agencies to foster better health and quality of life for residents of Oregon’s South Coast.
Bay Area Hospital is an accredited, award-winning hospital with some of the most advanced technological equipment on the Oregon Coast. These credentials are the result of more than 40 years of hard work by a community that cares for its neighbors. We felt it was time to honor those who’ve given us a helping hand along the way. With the John Whitty Award for Excellence, the Foundation annually recognizes individuals dedicated to improving Bay Area Hospital and the quality of life in our region.
Serving the South Coast with high-quality care since 1974, Bay Area Hospital is a district hospital and receives no tax support. Gifts to the Foundation help provide resources for advanced training, state-of-the-art technology, and safe environments designed for healing. This generous support results in a growing, progressive facility and professional staff that enhance quality of life for all.
