The ASMBS is the largest society in the world for this specialty. This special recognition acknowledges the high-quality care that is the hallmark of Bay Area Hospital and Bay Bariatrics.
In order to be named a Bariatric Center of Excellence, Bay Area Hospital underwent a site inspection during which all aspects of its bariatric surgery processes were examined and health outcomes information reviewed.
Steven Tersigni, M.D., performs more than 200 bariatric surgeries a year. The Bay Area Hospital multidisciplinary bariatric team includes surgeons, nurses, medical consultants, dietitians, staff to help with discharge planning and physical and occupational therapists. Our team has ongoing specialty training in the field of bariatrics to provide patients with the best in evidence-based care.
