EXPANSION UNDER WAY As Bay Area Hospital grows to meet the needs of the community, our Joint and Spine Care Center also will increase in size and services. When the hospital’s new four-story expansion wing opens — in early 2013 — post-surgery orthopaedic patients will stay on the third floor. Each private room will include “rooming in” accommodations for a family member as well as free wifi and data ports for use by patients or family members with their own personal computer. A bedside computer is available only for medical providers to access a patient’s medical records. In addition to state-of-the-art orthopaedic operating rooms, the Joint and Spine Care Center will contain a dedicated physical therapy space designed to help patients experience a successful recovery.
