THE DO'S AND DON'TS OF DIABETES

Coos County has one of the highest rate of diabetes in Oregon. It’s a serious disease with serious complications, but there are many things a person can do to stay healthy while living with diabetes. Classes cover diagnoses, blood sugar checks, high and low blood sugar, diabetic food plan, stress, weight loss, exercise, complications, and much more.

New daytime or evening classes begin every month.

The series of classes are covered by most insurance plans, including DOCS, Medicare, and other private insurers. Financial arrangements may be made for those without insurance coverage. The Southwestern Oregon Medical Society gives grants to those who can’t afford the classes.

Call 269-8349 for more information. Participants must have a physician’s order to register for the classes.
