RESPIRATORY CARE

The role of the respiratory therapist is to maintain or regain proper lung function. Therapists use state-of-the-art equipment, including the Bennett 7200 ventilator, Infant Schrist ventilator, Cybermedic pulmonary function analyzer, and the Respironics BiPAP non-invasive ventilator.

Certified and registered respiratory therapists, who staff the department 24 hours a day, provide a wide range of services including drawing arterial blood for analyses, electrocardiograms, aerosol and IPPB therapies, stress testing, pulmonary rehabilitation and many other routine respiratory care procedures.
