Classes & Support Groups


In light of recent changes with the COVID-19 pandemic, all of Bay Area Hospital's Community Health Education Classes are temporarily cancelled. Bay Area Hospital offers a wide range of classes and learning opportunities aimed at improving and maintaining your health. There are also many support groups in our community that can help you cope with challenging health issues. Click on a Class Category or Support Group title for more info

Support Groups

  • ABC Diabetic Walk and Talk
    Anyone whose life is impacted by diabetes is invited to walk and talk. Exercise and support will help our health, and we can get a bit of both at this event. Join the group at Mingus Park in the covered shelter near the stage.
  • Alzheimer's/Dementia Caregiver Support Group
    Come share and learn.
  • Bariatric Surgery Support Group
    For Bariatrics education and support groups. Come hear about weight loss surgery and be inspired! Support groups are held quarterly in both Coos Bay and Roseburg. Please check out the Bay Bariatrics Facebook page for upcoming events and support groups.
  • Breast Cancer Support Group
    Bay Area Cancer Center is hosting a support group to help you live well with breast cancer! For those who have breast cancer, or are a support person for someone with breast cancer. The group will meet every Friday from 1:00-2:00 the South Coast Hospice Community Education and Bereavement Center.
  • Cancer Treatment Support Group
    For anyone who has or had cancer and those who care for them.
  • Community Meal
    Weekly meal, free or donation of choice. For those who need help and support in finding resources.
  • Depression and Anxiety Support Group
    Group support for those living with extreme anxiety, panic, and depression.
  • Diabetes (Type 2) Talk Group
    Diabetes affects all aspects of your life. This supportive group can help you cope with the many challenges of managing diabetes and maintaining your physical and emotional health.
  • Diabetes Type 1
    "Optimal Management for Type 1 Diabetes." Anyone living with type 1 diabetes and their support person is welcome.
  • Multiple Sclerosis Support Group
    A time for caring and sharing.
  • NAMI (Nat’l Ass’n for Mental Illness) Family to Family Support Group
    Support group for family and friends of those with any form of mental illness.
  • Parkinson's Support Group
    Come Learn & share with others living with Parkinson's
  • Stop Tobacco Use Clinic
    Be tobacco free! Instruction and support can help you quit for good. Classes run as a 4 part series, and all classes in the series are on the first 4 Thursdays of the month. Please attend each class in order. No registration required.
  • Stroke Support Group
    This group offers speakers & support for patients, family & friends to assist in living with the challenges of stroke.
