Bay Area Hospital Accepting Donations of Particular Items
Coos Bay, March 20, 2020: Bay Area Hospital is actively accepting donations of masking and protective eyewear equipment, respirators, nitrile gloves, hand sanitizer, and cleaning wipes from private or commercial entities at this time. The hospital is also accepting donations of sewn face masks (hospital-approved pattern can be found on our Facebook page) from the general community. While Bay Area Hospital’s inventory supply is adequate at this time for routine operations, there is an anticipated increase in need for these supplies.
Due to global shortages, the hospital’s supply chain has been unreliable for personal protective equipment (PPE). While Bay Area Hospital is hoping to get shipments in, this reliability cannot be counted on. If an inpatient surge crisis presents itself, Bay Area Hospital wants to be prepared to continue to prioritize the health and safety of our staff, providers, limited visitors, and patients.
Donations of the items above can be delivered to the screening stations at either the main hospital entrance or at Emergency Room entrance between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The hospital wants to recognize and thank our community for actively seeking ways to support Bay Area Hospital. Donations of PPE have already been made, and community members have been sewing masks for hospital staff as well—one local family even catered lunch and dinner for the Emergency Room staff. The hospital wants to send out gratitude and appreciation for the community’s support through this time.
